Kwip Contacts

Privacy policy

Kwip Contacts works without a KWIP account, hosted profile, advertising service, behavioral analytics service, or KWIP-operated card backend.

Effective: August 15, 2026 · Publisher: KWIP LLC

Summary

Kwip Contacts creates, stores, receives, and shares contact-card snapshots on your iPhone. KWIP LLC does not operate a server that receives your cards, contact handles, received-card history, nearby peers, or sharing activity.

Information processed by the app

The app may process:

Local storage and received history

Your cards and received snapshots are stored in the app’s local container using Apple’s complete device-data protection. The full app and App Clip may use a private Apple App Group to complete a handoff after installation. Received snapshots remain in local history until you remove them, delete all local data, or remove the app subject to Apple’s platform behavior.

Contacts

Kwip Contacts requests Contacts access only after you choose Fill from Contacts or Save to Contacts. Filling a card uses Apple’s contact picker for the one contact you select. Saving opens Apple’s system contact editor so you can review the proposed contact before saving.

The app does not upload your address book to KWIP and does not provide KWIP with a browsable copy of your contacts.

Camera and QR codes

Camera access is requested only after you choose to scan a card. QR generation and recognition are performed on the device. The app does not send camera frames to KWIP.

A Kwip Contacts QR contains an encrypted snapshot and the information needed for the intended recipient to open it. Anyone who can successfully receive a shared snapshot may retain or copy it. A snapshot cannot be revoked or silently updated after it has been shared.

Nearby exchange

Local Network access is used only while the Exchange surface is open. Nearby discovery does not intentionally broadcast your personal card contents. The apps compare a short confirmation code and require consent on both devices before completing a mutual exchange. Card data moves directly between the participating devices over Apple-provided local networking.

App Clip and Apple services

A person without the full app may receive a snapshot through an Apple App Clip experience and choose whether to save it. Apple may process App Clip invocation, installation, device, purchase, and storefront metadata under Apple’s own privacy policy. KWIP does not receive card content through the App Clip delivery process.

Purchases

The optional Unlimited Cards lifetime unlock is sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Kwip Contacts reads verified entitlement state through StoreKit. Apple handles Apple Account, billing, Family Sharing, and storefront information; KWIP does not receive your card content through a purchase.

No tracking, advertising, or sale

Kwip Contacts does not contain advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or a KWIP account system. KWIP LLC does not collect or sell your card information.

Backups and exports

You may export a portable deck backup containing your cards, preferences, and received history. The backup leaves the app only when you choose a destination using Apple’s system file interface. After export, the destination you select controls its copy. Importing a backup validates its format before replacing the local deck.

Deletion

You can remove an individual received snapshot or choose Delete all local data in Settings. Deleting local data cannot revoke snapshots already shared with another person or remove contacts already saved in Apple Contacts.

Children

Kwip Contacts is a general contact-sharing utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a KWIP service because it does not transmit card content to KWIP.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices materially change, this page and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before those practices are released.
