Email [email protected] with “Smarter Golf Swings” in the subject. Include your iPhone model, Apple Watch model, iOS/watchOS versions, and what the Watch displayed when the issue occurred. Do not attach raw motion files unless support explicitly asks for them.
Start a practice session
- Open Smarter Golf Swings on Apple Watch.
- Confirm your club and target ratio.
- Tap Start, move into address, and then hold still.
- Wait for the Ready confirmation before beginning the swing.
- Review the frozen result and tap Next only when you are ready to set up again.
If the Watch remains on Set Up
The app intentionally waits for a short quiet period after button and address movement. Hold your hands naturally at address. Continued wrist movement restarts the readiness check.
If a swing is captured but not accepted
The Watch may have received strong motion without identifying a complete, ordered backswing and downswing. The result screen shows what signal was captured. Use the observation controls to mark a false trigger when appropriate, then tap Next and try again.
Motion Lab synchronization
Motion traces are retained only when Save Motion is enabled. Keep the paired iPhone and Watch available, open the Lab tab on iPhone, and tap Sync Now. Transfers use the paired-device connection and may complete later without internet.
Permissions
Motion access is required for swing analysis. Workout access lets a user-started golf workout sustain Watch capture. You can review permissions in the Settings apps on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Privacy, export, and deletion
Open Setup → Privacy, export & deletion on iPhone to export readable data, delete retained motion, or remove practice history. Read the complete privacy policy.
Safety
Use the app only where you have clear space for a golf swing. Keep away from people, pets, ceilings, walls, and breakable objects. Do not attempt a full swing indoors unless the area is specifically designed for it.
