Summary
Smarter Golf Swings processes golf practice settings, Apple Watch motion, derived swing results, calibration state, and optional golfer observations on your devices. KWIP LLC does not operate a server that receives this information.
Information processed by the app
The app may process:
- Club definitions, ratio targets, handedness, and Watch-wrist configuration.
- Apple Watch accelerometer, gyroscope, gravity, and device-orientation samples used to analyze a swing.
- Derived phase timing, tempo ratio, Wrist Speed Index, consistency, confidence, and capture-quality reasons.
- Golfer-entered observations such as practice swing, contact quality, ball-flight quality, or direction.
- Calibration status and technical provenance required to interpret a saved result correctly.
Local motion retention
Raw motion is not retained by default beyond the bounded processing and reconciliation needed to analyze an attempt. If you explicitly enable Motion Lab, recent traces are stored on your Apple Watch and paired iPhone for up to 30 days or 200 captures per device, whichever limit is reached first.
Motion Lab traces transfer directly between your paired Apple devices through Apple WatchConnectivity. They are not uploaded to a KWIP LLC server.
HealthKit and workouts
The Apple Watch app may request permission to save a user-started golf workout so motion capture can remain active during practice. The app does not request heart-rate read access. Saving or discarding the HealthKit workout is separate from the app’s internal swing history.
Health and fitness information is not used for advertising, marketing profiles, or sale to another party.
No tracking or advertising
Smarter Golf Swings does not contain advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or an account system. KWIP LLC does not sell your information.
Exports
You may create JSON, CSV, or retained-motion exports. An export leaves the app only when you choose a destination using Apple’s system share interface. After export, the destination you select controls its copy.
Deletion
You can delete saved motion traces, individual swings, complete sessions, or all practice history from the iPhone app. Deleting internal history does not automatically delete a golf workout already saved to Apple Health, and discarding a HealthKit workout does not automatically delete internal swing history.
Removing the app removes its app-container data subject to Apple’s platform behavior.
Children
The app is a general golf practice tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a KWIP service because it does not transmit personal information to KWIP.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices materially change, this page and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before those practices are released.
