Summary
Laissez processes selected Calendar events, Reminders, and local weather on your device to create its ambient display. KWIP LLC does not operate a server that receives your event titles, reminder text, device location, weather location, display preferences, or usage history.
Information processed by the app
When you separately enable each optional source, Laissez may process:
- Your current location to request local weather from Apple Weather through WeatherKit.
- Current conditions and a limited hourly and daily forecast returned by Apple Weather.
- Upcoming event titles, start and end times, and all-day status from Apple Calendar.
- Incomplete reminder titles, due dates, and priority from Apple Reminders.
This information is used only to compose the display on your device. Laissez does not require an account and does not send this content to KWIP.
Calendar and Reminders
Calendar and Reminders permissions are requested separately after you choose each source. Laissez reads upcoming Calendar events but does not create, edit, or delete events. If you tap a reminder circle, Laissez marks that reminder complete in Apple Reminders. That change is saved through Apple’s EventKit framework and appears in your other Apple apps and synchronized devices.
Location and Apple Weather
Laissez requests When In Use location access only after you enable local weather. It uses an approximate location fix to request weather from Apple’s WeatherKit service. The app stores a compact weather snapshot but does not store the location coordinate with it. Weather attribution and the required legal-data-source link are displayed wherever Apple Weather data appears.
Apple processes WeatherKit requests under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. Laissez does not use your location for advertising, tracking, or a KWIP location history.
Local storage
Laissez stores app preferences, setup choices, the first-launch date used for the seven-day preview, verified purchase state supplied by StoreKit, a compact cached forecast, refresh timestamps, and a local monthly WeatherKit request count. These records remain in the app’s container and are not transmitted to KWIP.
Purchases
The optional lifetime unlock is sold and managed through Apple’s App Store. Laissez reads verified StoreKit entitlement and transaction state so it can unlock paid features and restore a purchase. Apple processes account, payment, storefront, refund, and Family Sharing information under Apple’s privacy policy. KWIP does not receive your Calendar, Reminder, location, or display content through the purchase process.
No tracking, analytics, or advertising
Laissez contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, advertising identifier use, or KWIP-hosted telemetry service. KWIP LLC does not sell information processed by the app.
Your controls and deletion
You can disable Calendar, Reminders, or Location permission at any time in Apple Settings. Removing Laissez removes its app-container preferences and cached forecast subject to Apple platform behavior. A reminder that you deliberately completed through Laissez remains completed in Apple Reminders unless you change it there. App Store transaction records remain governed by Apple.
Support email
If you choose to email support, your email provider and KWIP’s email provider process your address, message, and any information you include outside the app. KWIP uses that communication to respond to your request. Do not include private event or reminder content unless it is necessary and you choose to share it.
Children
Laissez is a general household utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a KWIP service because the app does not transmit personal information to KWIP.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices materially change, this page and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before those practices are released.
